Dear students, colleagues, supporters and friends,
I hope you have enjoyed the wonderful time of Advent. I do not want to keep you long. I bet you have important things to do: singing concerts, preparing church gigs, wrapping presents or flying around the country to visit family and friends. So this is the shortest blog post of the year. I just want to wish you Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! May you have a wonderful time with peace, love and joy. Your's Christine

This week in Susan’s German Audition Story, she travels to Poland. Wait, what? Yes, you read that right, Poland! Susan woke up to a surprise audition in Poland for a Mozart opera - an opportunity she just couldn’t pass up. It’s a role she loves and guess what, she’s even polish, though she doesn’t speak the language. Read on to see how she navigates a country she is totally unfamiliar with on a very tight, stressful timeline.
What do you do when you’re sick on your audition tour? Make the most of it and enjoy the culture! Even though Susan was battling a cold on week ten of her audition tour, she worked through it and decided to be a tourist. Susan travelled to Dresden and even met up with GVAI’s founder, Christine! They had the chance to attend a concert, eat some delectable German food, and visit a Weihnachtsmarkt.
Susan has spent just over two months auditioning in Germany. Though her German language skills are pretty stellar and she can find her way in a foreign city like a pro, she still sometimes has those difficult moments. Every singer is bound to experience a bad audition at least once in their life. If we are being really honest, they are bound to experience several. However, those who succeed are the ones who keep auditioning even after they have those bad days. Read on to see how Susan handles a bad audition experience like the successful singer she is.
If you've been following Susan's German Audition Tour blog, you know that she is well into her journey! This week, Susan tries all the bratwursts in lieu of Thanksgiving, visits Christ Kindl Markets on Black Friday, and muses on how this audition tour has allowed her to work even harder on her music career. It's amazing the progress you make when the only thing you have to focus on is music. All that practicing will come in handy at Susan's upcoming auditions!
After many tough moments, Susan has hit a turning point! She’s survived rejection and is thriving with inspiration from coachings. A special coach, Kaito, has reminded her of some very important music study techniques and now Susan is truly feeling powerful! Not to mention, Susan gets to visit her dream city of Munich in this week’s audition tour blog.
A career in the arts is one of the hardest careers you can enter into. No matter how good you are and how hard you work, there is no guarantee of a successful career. A former GVAI singer, Susan, is currently pursuing her opera career in Germany. We’ve been following her story every week on our blog. This week on her audition tour, Susan both wrestles with rejection and seeks out inspiration. Like the champ she is, she uses her rejection as a motivator!
If you’ve been following Susan’s audition tour (see her last blog here), you know that last week was a rough week for her. But, sometimes seven days can turn your whole world around! This week, Susan is back with a vengeance, ready to take on the world! Or at least take on the opera world. Read on to see what Susan has been up to this week and what her plans are for her music and upcoming auditions.
