Kristina Pilz

Kristina Pilz is a native of Dresden, Germany and has been living in Seattle for the past three years. She is an experienced Instructor in the Department of Germanics where she currently works on her doctorate in German Literature from the University of Washington. Her project BlackWhite — Experiences and Writing Practices in Contemporary Afro-German Literature describes writing practices in contemporary Afro-German literature, including rhetorical, intertextual and aesthetic strategies, as creative devices for a diasporic literary history. In the past, Kristina has contributed her teaching and team leading, as well as writing and editing skills to various projects in education and publishing fields. She speaks German and English fluently, and has taught at the intersection of language learning and cultural awareness in various countries and different cultural environments.
