About Therese Renick
Therese Renick, born in St. Louis (USA), draws upon a long and successful career as an opera- and concert singer, as a voice teacher, and as a management consultant. Her singing career spanned a period of over 25 years as a dramatic mezzo soprano in numerous European opera houses, including Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Mannheim, and Essen, and she also appeared at the Salzburg and Bregenz Festivals. She sang all of the important roles of her Fach and is especially known for her interpretations of the major Verdi-Mezzo-roles.Before starting her own Opern- und Konzertagentur in the summer of 2008, Therese Renick was a consultant at the Opernagentur Inge Tennigkeit, where she not only collaborated with numerous theatres, but also dealt with the many concerns of young singers. Because of her vast stage experience, her knowledge of management, and her teaching skills, Therese Renick is regularly invited to speak at seminars in Musikhochschulen and universities in Germany and abroad. In addition she lectures at major international conventions, including the Eurovox-Kongress 2006 in Vienna and the Gesangs-wissenschaftliche Tagungen 2007 in Vienna, and she was one of the featured speakers at the International Congress of Voice Teachers in Paris in July 2009. In November 2010 Therese Renick was one of the featured speakers at the 15. Wiener Gesangswissenschaftliche Tagung, theme of which was „Kunstgesang: Sprung in die Karriere.“ In April 2012 Therese Renick presented a lecture on the numerous demands of a professional singing career at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and in the summer 2012 she was one of the featured speakers at the annual conference of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) in Orlando, Florida. Her theme: The European and US Agency Systems - Finding your Agent. In addition she served on the jury for the "32. AIMS Meistersinger-Gesangswettbewerb 2012" in Graz/Austria.
